Germany Moves to Reverse the Decision
Germany reacted quickly and strongly. Chancellor Friedrich Merz confirmed that his government will try to convince Trump to reconsider the South Africa G20 exclusion. He argued that the G20 should not shrink unless there is a serious reason, and he stressed the importance of inclusive global dialogue. The German government also dismissed Trump’s claims about South Africa mistreating its white minority, noting that these allegations have been repeatedly debunked.

Pretoria Pushes Back Against U.S. Claims
