Al-Falah University Membership Suspended After Blast-Linked Car Found on Campus

Al-Falah University membership suspended

The Al-Falah University membership suspended news has shocked the academic community. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has suspended the Faridabad-based university after investigators found a suspicious car linked to the Delhi Red Fort blast case on its campus. The car, a red Brezza, was registered to Dr. Shaheen Shahid, one of the accused in the terror probe.

According to the AIU, all member institutions must maintain “good standing” to continue membership. However, reports connecting the university to individuals under investigation led to immediate suspension. The association also directed Al-Falah University to remove its name and logo from its website and official materials.

Why Al-Falah University Faces Multiple Actions

The Al-Falah University membership suspended case deepened when another national body stepped in. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) issued a show-cause notice to the university on the same day. NAAC stated that Al-Falah was still displaying expired accreditation grades for two of its colleges, which misled students and parents.

The notice demanded a written reply within seven days. NAAC asked why the university should not face legal or administrative action, including the withdrawal of recognition by the University Grants Commission (UGC), NCTE, AICTE, and the Haryana State Government. The council also instructed the university to immediately remove outdated accreditation details from all public platforms.

Background of the Investigation

Tensions rose after a car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10 killed twelve people and injured several others. Investigators later traced the suspects to Al-Falah Medical College. Both Dr. Umar and Dr. Muzammil, associated with the university, were arrested in connection with the blast.

The discovery of three suspicious vehicles, including one parked on the Al-Falah campus, triggered extensive searches. Bomb disposal squads and local police teams reached the site soon after the alert. The Jammu and Kashmir Police are now assisting in the ongoing investigation.

University Response and Current Status

Al-Falah University has denied any institutional link to the accused individuals. In a statement, it said that the university only employed the doctors in their professional roles and had no involvement in any illegal activity. It also claimed that no harmful materials were stored or used on campus.

Still, the AIU suspension and NAAC notice have placed the institution under intense scrutiny. Students and faculty now face uncertainty over accreditation and academic recognition. Regulatory bodies continue to evaluate the case as the investigation moves forward.
