In a shocking development, the Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered 350 kg of explosives, an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, and ammunition from a rented house in Faridabad, Haryana. The house belonged to a doctor originally from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. The operation exposed what officials described as one of the largest arms recoveries in recent months.
The Faridabad doctor explosives case has sent shockwaves across both states, raising serious questions about potential terror links and sleeper cell activity in the region.
Massive Arms and Explosives Seized in Faridabad
According to officials, the J&K Police conducted the raid in Dhauj village late Saturday night. They seized nearly 350 kg of ammonium nitrate, an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, three magazines, 20 electronic timers, and a walkie-talkie set from the premises.
The team had been tracking the suspect for several weeks based on inputs from intelligence agencies. Once the location was confirmed, a joint team from J&K Police and Faridabad Police launched a coordinated operation. They entered the rented house quietly to avoid alerting others in the neighborhood.
The police said the explosives appeared to be stored in containers and could have been used to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Experts from the bomb disposal squad later inspected and safely removed the material for forensic examination.
Doctor from Pulwama Arrested
The accused doctor, identified as a native of Pulwama, was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators believe he was staying in Faridabad under the pretext of running a private medical practice. However, they suspect he had connections with extremist groups operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
A Faridabad Police spokesperson confirmed that local officers were present throughout the operation. “The J&K Police team led the search, and our personnel supported them. The doctor has been arrested, and further questioning is underway,” the spokesperson said.
Sources revealed that the accused had been under surveillance due to frequent online interactions with individuals linked to known terror outfits. Police are also checking whether the explosive materials were meant to be transported elsewhere or used locally.
J&K Police Expands Probe into Wider Network
After the Faridabad doctor explosives case, the J&K Police launched follow-up raids in Pulwama and other parts of South Kashmir. The focus is now on tracing the source of the ammonium nitrate and identifying accomplices who may have helped the doctor procure and store the arms.
Officials have not ruled out the possibility of a terror financing network operating under the guise of legitimate businesses. Investigators are reviewing the suspect’s financial transactions, phone records, and digital communications to build a complete picture of his activities.
Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has been briefed on the case and may join the probe if cross-border connections are confirmed.
Security on High Alert Across NCR
Following the discovery, security agencies have heightened surveillance in Delhi-NCR and nearby industrial areas. The police have urged landlords to conduct proper background checks before renting their properties.
