Residents Mistook the Sound for Another Blast
At around 9:18 a.m., Delhi Fire Services received a call about a blast-like sound in the Mahipalpur area. Fire engines and police teams rushed to the spot immediately.
Investigators combed the area but found no signs of an explosion. After speaking with locals, police learned that the noise came from the rear tyre of a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus that had suddenly burst while heading toward Dhaula Kuan.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel said the situation was completely normal. He added that the caller, who first reported the blast, confirmed the sound resembled an explosion but was actually a tyre burst.
No Threat Found, Authorities Urge Calm
Officials said no suspicious material or damage was found in Mahipalpur. They urged citizens not to panic but to stay alert. The Mahipalpur bus tyre burst created fear mainly because it happened just days after the Red Fort explosion that killed 13 people and injured many others.
