Modi Targets Mahagathbandhan During Bihar Rally
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Opposition alliance during a public rally in Aurangabad, Bihar, ahead of the state elections. He accused the Mahagathbandhan leaders of promoting crime, extortion, and a return to “jungle raj.”
Modi declared that Bihar’s people no longer want a “katta sarkar” — a government of guns, misrule, and fear. He said, “The people who once turned Bihar into a state of extortion and gun culture now dream of returning to power. But Bihar has moved forward. The people will not allow the days of donali and rangdari to return.”
‘Jungle Raj’ and the Politics of Fear
The Prime Minister accused Opposition leaders of encouraging young people to become rangdaars (gangsters). He said such a mindset would destroy Bihar’s social fabric and economic progress. “They are openly saying that if their leader comes to power, the rule of guns and ransom will return,” Modi said. “Bihar doesn’t want misrule. Bihar wants peace, progress, and honest governance.”
He warned that a government of crime and corruption would push investors away and kill job opportunities. “The people of jungle raj have everything that drives away investment and jobs. Bihar cannot afford that again,” Modi told the cheering crowd.
‘Bihar Has Faith in the NDA’
Modi praised the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for transforming Bihar through development and stability. He said the NDA would continue to make Bihar stronger under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. “Bihar has faith in the NDA’s honest manifesto,” Modi said. “We are working for development, not dynasty or deals.”
He also reminded the crowd of Nitish Kumar’s contribution to ending the dark days of jungle raj. Modi noted that Nitish achieved progress despite facing non-cooperation from the Congress-led UPA during his first nine years as Chief Minister.
“People trust Nitish and me because we deliver what we promise,” Modi said, citing achievements such as the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the abrogation of Article 370, and Operation Sindoor against terrorism.
Strong Voter Turnout Reflects Trust in Government
Highlighting Bihar’s record 64.66% turnout in the first phase of polling, Modi said it proved that citizens trust the NDA’s governance. “The people of Bihar have set a new record,” he said. “Our mothers and sisters came out in large numbers, showing faith in the track record of Narendra and Nitish.”
He described the turnout as a vote of confidence in progress and stability, contrasting it with the fear and violence associated with jungle raj. “The people have chosen hope over hatred,” he added.

Criticism of Opposition’s Seat-Sharing Formula
Modi also mocked the Mahagathbandhan’s seat-sharing arrangement. He claimed that the Congress was given seats that the RJD has never won in the last 35 to 40 years. “They talk of unity but don’t trust each other,” Modi said. “Even the INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial face was stolen at gunpoint by the RJD.”
He urged voters to remain alert and avoid giving power to those “who have a history of guns and gangsters.” According to Modi, the NDA stands for peace, progress, and prosperity, while the opposition represents instability and crime.
A Call for Development and Dignity
Concluding his speech, Modi said Bihar deserves a government that values development, not weapons. “Bihar doesn’t need a katta,” he declared. “It needs computers, classrooms, and clean governance. The youth should dream of jobs, not guns.”
He promised that the NDA would continue to focus on infrastructure, education, women’s empowerment, and employment generation. “Together, we will make Bihar developed, secure, and proud,” the Prime Minister said, drawing loud applause from the audience.
