Tata Motors has officially showcased the Tata Sierra 2025 ahead of its market launch on November 25, 2025. This revival marks the return of one of India’s most iconic SUVs. First launched in 1991, the Sierra became India’s first modern off-roader SUV. Its sporty three-door design and rugged performance made it a fan favorite. The 2025 model brings neo-retro styling, advanced technology, and premium features, making it a standout in Tata’s SUV lineup.
Powertrain Options: ICE and Electric Variants
The new Tata Sierra will come in both ICE and EV models. The ICE lineup will include a 1.5-litre TGDi turbo-petrol engine and a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine. Both engines will offer manual and automatic transmissions. Additionally, some variants may feature a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 118 bhp, similar to the Curvv SUV.
The EV version will use Tata’s Acti.EV platform, supporting multiple battery options. Although exact specs are yet to be confirmed, the EV is expected to deliver 450-550 km of range on a single charge. Higher trims could include dual motors and all-wheel drive, ensuring strong performance across terrains.
Interior Features and Technology
Inside, the Sierra offers a premium cabin with a triple-screen setup, including a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, infotainment display, and passenger screen. It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other notable features include:
- Dual-tone interiors with ambient lighting and ventilated front seats
- Panoramic sunroof and floating center console
- 4-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo
- Auto-dimming IRVMs and push-button start/stop
These upgrades place the Sierra among Tata’s top-tier SUVs, offering both style and functionality.
Safety Features: Advanced Protection
The Tata Sierra 2025 will include a robust safety suite. Standard safety features will cover six airbags, ABS with ESC, electronic parking brake, traction control, and hill hold assist. The EV variant may also include Level 2 ADAS, such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera. Tata continues to aim for a 5-star safety rating.
Pricing and Launch
The ICE variants are expected to cost between ₹17-22 lakh (ex-showroom), while the EV models may range from ₹20-25 lakh. This positions the Sierra just below the top-spec Harrier, offering advanced technology, premium comfort, and strong performance.
